Welcome to Timeless Reminders!

by Daniel Friedland, MD

It’s great to have you here. We’d like to offer you a place, with resources and tools, to rest, reflect and find some inspiration in the stress of your everyday life that all too easily fragments our sense of health and well-being and leads us to forget what’s really important in our lives.

For now, this site largely supports the newly released Timeless Reminders iPhone application. The app enables you to collect your most inspiring photos, videos, music, audio and text to create rich multi-media movies that you can schedule to be sent to yourself to remind you what’s important in your life,  reconnect with a sense of wholeness (the root of the word “health”), and motivate you to take action to enhance your health, well-being, creativity and success.

If you have not yet downloaded the app, you can do so at the iTunes App Store.

The Timeless Reminders video tutorials for the iPhone application are now up! Enjoy these videos below and please feel free to share your thoughts and comments, and inspire others with how you see yourself using this app.

Part 1: Introduction and Collecting Resources

Part 2: Building Reminders

Part 3: Tags and General Settings

Thanks for watching and sharing any comments you may have. If you have not yet downloaded the app, here’s the link again to do so at the iTunes App Store.

Many thanks to Brooks Cole, the CEO of  Hologenesis – the developer for the app – for his gifted design eye and big heart and to Alex Wayne from Beautiful Pixel for his genius and spirit with which he engineered the app.

I look forward to sharing more with you in future posts…

What a difference! I use Timeless Reminders for managing stress and it has allowed me to take moments to just breath, pray, relax and think. A great tool to help you through the day.

Will you and the co-authors be providing apps for other phones? I have a Blackberry and would really like to have the app for those special reminders.

Thanks for your question and interest in the app Gail. We’d love to create this for other platforms too. Droid would likely be next. Blackberry is a little more tricky to create these media rich reminders for. Thanks for inspiring us to explore the possibilities on this.

I love this app. There is one problem I’m having. I leave on the east coast and the time on the setting wheel must be turned back three hours to corectly set the time.. Can someone help me to fix that?

Hey Matt,
I’m sorry about that bug. I noticed that when I traveled to Chicago from California. The good news is we have a fix in the upcoming release of the new 1.0.1 version. Keep a lookout for an email I’ll send out when Apple has OK’d this release.

In the meantime, it’s great to hear that you are enjoying the app. Can you share how you are using it?

Thanks for your comment.

Daniel,

Thanks for your post and the phone call to my cell it was very helpful. Must say you have great customer service.. I am currently using the app as is and setting the reminders with a 3 hour delay to make up for the bug.. (so I have to think a little) 🙂 I have to say I find the app everything I was always looking for. I myself have been a goal setter for a long time. I used pictures in my home and office to remind myself of what is important and what I am looking for in my life. This app is not only usefull its a ton of fun.. I made a remineder for the gym hers what I did. I took pictures of my work out shake, the front door of the gym some buff pics from google of areas I want to work on on my body. I took some video of the weights and machimes I use the parts i see when working out (thought that was a nice touch) then added some things that make me happy friends family my dog Zeke. Then I added some text to the pics that would inspire me.. To complete the processes I added the song (Bad to the bone) which has been a favorite of mine since my last name is Bohn.. This really gets my mind in the mood for the gym and ready to rock.. Lokking foward to the email with the fix and using this in so many other areas of my life. Advice to others for this app, remember to take pictures of everything you like durring the day your going to use them later..(be creative) Take care and God bless

Lots of creative folks have probably come up with some interesting content with this app. Is there a way for them to upload these somewhere so that others can use.

Hi Dr. Friedland,
I’ve been meaning to look into this app and am just getting around to it. Our conversation while you were here made me think and reminded me that i need to take care of all the parts of my life. Start focusing on what’s important and controllable whether it be how i think, my perspective, the questions i form to find answers to make informed questions. To question the truth and tools to help me discover truths or in my mind i tag as “real or not real”. Thank you for creating such a robust app that in watching your tutorial looks really user friendly. i’m looking forward to putting a slide/video show with music of my dad together and of my entire family really with the text to remind me of different values I’ve gained from my parents an each of my brothers. Music is such a big part of my life and it’s amazing how much more rich a memory becomes when tied to much and a picture. Thank you for your passion, dedication and willingness to share your great ideas. Hopefully next time I see you I can share with you the reminders I’ve crated. Speaking of that, is there a way to share a reminder you’ve made with someone else? With much gratitude, hope and a smile~ Joi

Joi,
Thanks for your heartfelt post. I’m so delighted that you are excited about using the app to remind yourself of your treasured memories of your dad and family. Your Dad is so blessed to have such a caring daughter.

Unfortunately, there is no way to share our reminders with others yet. My intention is to be able to do this in future upgrades of the app.

With gratitude and a big smile back at you!
Danny

I am very interested in this app! It sounds great!

However, as of today (10/17/2014) iTunes App Store reports that it is not available in the U.S.?!

Can this be remedied?

Thanks!
